Special Olympics Triumphant Wins

Zoe Marks Wins Gold and Silver Medals at the Special Olympics State Summer Games!

Zoe Marks loves swimming, especially when she can swim longer distances! She participated in Special Olympics State Summer Games from June 1 – June 2 at Central Michigan University.

Zoe had phenomenal results during the competition:

• First place for a gold medal in the 100-meter freestyle competition
• Second place for a silver medal in the 200-meter freestyle competition
• Second place for a silver medal in the 50-meter breaststroke competition

Zoe is hoping to qualify for swimming the 400-meter freestyle in the Special Olympics USA Games. Congratulations Zoe!

About the State Summer Games at Central Michigan University.

The 2023 State Summer Games took place from May 31 – June 2 and featured an in-person competition at Central Michigan University.

Special Olympics Michigan provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy while participating in the sharing of gifts, skills, and friendships among their families, Special Olympics athletes, and the community. The athletes achieve their dreams with the support of caring volunteers, coaches, family members, and staff. Donations from Michigan citizens and businesses provide funding for the program.
